# Merchandising How to access on Fynd Commerce Commerce Panel → Sales Channel (select application) → Search → Merchandising ## Introduction Merchandising allows merchants to customise how products are displayed in search results by configuring rule-based conditions and actions. These rules apply when the **Popular** sort option is selected by the customer. ### Create a Merchandising Rule 1. Go to **Merchandising**. 2. Click **Add Rules**. ### Step 1: Define Query Conditions Use query conditions to decide when a merchandising rule should be triggered. #### Query Use this option to define the customer search query that activates the rule. Choose a match condition from the dropdown: * **is** – triggers when the query exactly matches the given keyword. * **contains** – triggers if the query includes the given keyword anywhere. * **starts with** – triggers if the query begins with the keyword. * **ends with** – triggers if the query ends with the keyword. **To configure a query:** 1. Toggle on the **Query** setting. 2. Select a condition (e.g. *contains*). 3. Enter the keyword you want to target (e.g. *Mobile*). **Example:** If you choose *contains* and enter *Mobile*, the rule will apply to queries such as *Mobile Phones*, *Samsung Mobile*, or *Mobile Accessories*. #### Filter Filters narrow down the scope of the rule by product attributes such as Department, Category, Size, or Brand. **To configure a filter:** 1. Toggle on the **Filter** setting. 2. Click **+ Add Filter**. 3. Select an attribute from the list (e.g. *Brand*). 4. Enter or select the required value (e.g. *Samsung*). You can add multiple filters. For example, you can filter products where: * *Department* is *Electronics*, and * *Brand* is *Samsung* This ensures the rule applies only to Samsung products in the Electronics department. #### Collection Collections help target merchandising rules to a predefined group of products. **To configure a collection:** 1. Toggle on the **Collection** setting. 2. Select a collection from the dropdown (e.g. *Smartphones handpicked 123*). Only products in this specific collection will be affected by the rule, even if the query and filter conditions match additional items. **Example:** If your search query is *Mobile* and the collection is *AC handpicked collection*, only products from that collection will be considered for the merchandising action. ### Step 2: Add Merchandising Actions Specify how the selected products should appear in the search results. #### Pin Products Use pinning to fix selected products at the top of the results. **To pin products:** 1. Click **Pin Products**. 2. Use the **Pin Product** tab to search and assign positions (e.g., 1, 2). ##### Bulk Pin Products Bulk pinning allows you to pin multiple products to specific positions in the search results in one go. This is useful when you want to organise a large set of products and control their exact order of appearance. **Steps to bulk pin products:** 1. In the **Pin Products** modal, click the **Bulk Pin Products** tab. 2. Download the sample template by clicking **Download Template**. The template includes three mandatory columns: 1. **Brand** – Name of the product brand (e.g. *Samsung*). 2. **Item Code** – Unique code identifying the product (e.g. *491188235*). 3. **Sequence** – The numeric position where the product should appear in the search results (e.g. *1* for top position). 3. Open the template and fill in the details for up to 700 products. **Example:** | Brand | Item Code | Sequence | | --- | --- | --- | | Samsung | 491188235 | 1 | | Samsung | 491188234 | 2 | 1. Save the file in `.csv`, `.xls`, or `.xlsx` format (maximum file size: 3 MB). 2. Under **Import Data**, click **Choose File** and upload your completed file. 3. Click **Proceed** to apply the pinned positions. Once uploaded, the products appear in the pinned list with their assigned positions. You can make changes by uploading an updated version of the file or managing pins individually. #### Boost Products Improve the ranking of products in search results **To boost products:** 1. Click **Boost Products**. 2. Click **Boost an attribute**. 3. Choose an attribute (e.g., *Brand*) and enter the value (e.g., *Samsung*). 4.
