# Free Gift Items

## What Is It?

The Free Gift Items offer adds a specific free product to the order when the cart value crosses a minimum threshold. Unlike Buy X Items Get Y Items Free (which is quantity-based), this offer is value-based — it triggers on spend, not item count.

When the cart value crosses the Minimum Cart Value, the customer receives a specific free product. The discount applied equals the cost of the free product, which is deducted from the cart total.

## When to Use It

* Gift-with-purchase promotions (e.g. “Spend ₹2,000 and get a free tote bag”)
* Loyalty rewards above a spend threshold
* Brand awareness campaigns with merchandise giveaways
* Upselling campaigns to push higher spend


## Key Parameters

| Parameter | What It Means |

| Minimum Cart Value (MCV) (required) | The minimum cart value required to unlock the free gift. |
| Discount Amount (D) (required) | The cost of the free product (used as discount). |


## How the free product works

The system applies a discount equal to the cost of the specified free product.

You must define the free product in **Eligible Products**.

The customer must add the free product manually to their cart.
