Commerce Panel → Orders → Manifest
After packing a shipment, the final step before the delivery partner can pick it up is generating a manifest — the formal handover document that lists all shipments being dispatched. Without a manifest, the DP doesn't know which packages to collect from your location.
This step is essential for DP-managed orders. For self-delivery orders, manifesting may be optional depending on your configuration, but is recommended for record-keeping.
Prerequisite: Shipments must be in PACKED status before they can be added to a manifest. If you haven't packed yet, see Invoice & Pack a Shipment.
The page is organised into two tabs:
Displays manifests that have been created but not yet dispatched. You can still add or remove shipments from an active manifest before processing it.
Each active manifest card shows:
- Manifest ID
- Number of shipments included
- Delivery partner the manifest is for
- Fulfilment location the shipments are dispatching from
- Created date and time
- Status (e.g., Open, Processing)
Displays manifests that have been processed and dispatched. These are historical records of past handovers.
Each closed manifest shows:
- Manifest ID
- Number of shipments dispatched
- Delivery partner
- Dispatched date and time
On the Manifest page, click Generate Manifest.
Select the Delivery Partner from the dropdown. A manifest is tied to a single DP — if you have packed shipments for Delhivery and Bluedart, you'll generate separate manifests for each.
Select the Fulfilment Location — the store or warehouse from which the shipments are being dispatched.
The system automatically lists all packed shipments matching the selected DP and location. All shipments are auto-selected by default.
Uncheck any shipments you do not want to include in this manifest (e.g., a shipment you want to hold for the next pickup cycle).
Choose one of two options:
- Save: Creates the manifest and saves it under Active Manifests. You can review, add, or remove shipments before processing.
- Process: Creates and processes the manifest immediately, skipping the Active stage.
If you chose Save in the previous step, the manifest appears under Active Manifests. You can review or modify an active manifest:
- Add shipments: If additional shipments were packed after the manifest was created, you can add them before processing.
- Remove shipments: If a shipment has an issue (e.g., damaged item discovered after packing, customer requested cancellation), remove it from the manifest.
The Add Shipments button only appears when there are additional packed shipments available for the same delivery partner and fulfilment location that are not yet part of any manifest. If no such shipments exist, the button will not be visible. Pack more shipments first, then return to the active manifest to add them.
- Open the active manifest and click Process. The system may prompt you to either:
- Upload a signed manifest: Print the manifest PDF, have it signed by the DP's pickup agent during handover, then upload the signed copy.
- Declare consent: Confirm the handover digitally without a physical signature.
- Click Dispatch to finalise. The manifest moves from Active to Closed. All shipments in the manifest update:
- Status changes from PACKED / Ready to Dispatch to DISPATCHED
- Shipments move from the Unfulfilled super-lane to the Processed → In Transit sub-lane
After dispatch, the delivery partner's pickup agent collects the packages from your location. Depending on your DP configuration:
- Scheduled pickup: Some DPs schedule automatic pickups based on manifest generation. The agent arrives at a pre-configured time window.
- On-demand pickup: Other DPs require you to request a pickup separately through their portal or API. The manifest confirms which packages are ready.
- Drop-off: In some configurations, you drop off the packages at the DP's hub or collection point yourself. Once the DP picks up the packages, tracking updates begin flowing automatically for DP-managed orders. For self-delivery, you continue updating the status manually via the Update Status panel (see Invoice & Pack).
You can download the manifest as a PDF at any stage:
- Active manifest: Download to print for the DP's pickup agent to review and sign during handover.
- Closed manifest: Download as a historical record for reconciliation, disputes, or audits. The manifest PDF typically includes the manifest ID, date, DP name, fulfilment location, and a table listing every shipment with its Shipment ID, AWB, item count, and order value.
